The Research Group of Engineering and Materials Science is part of the Department of Engineering of the University of Naples "Parthenope".
The main areas of research include: the development of new materials for energy applications; stabilization/solidification of hazardous industrial solid waste, soils and sediments; the preparation of concrete and materials geopolimerici based on fly ash, blast furnace slag, tuff powder, foundry slag, slag from incineration of MSW. |
Research object is also the durability of the products, obtained through the formation of calcium silicate and hydrated aluminum trisulphate, even in the presence of chlorides and sulphates; inerting by mechanochemical treatment of industrial waste containing asbestos and sediments.
We also studied the reuse of products from building materials and the assessment of the life cycle (LCA) of the production processes of environmentally friendly building materials. |
