Scientific Activity
Dr. Roviello is Assistant Professor at Engineering Department of University of Naples ‘Parthenope’. Her scientific activity of Dr. Roviello has produced 41 publications in high quality international journals, 3 chapters in books, four patents and several communications to national and international symposia.
Dr. Roviello was also the author of a keynote (entitled "Novel Hybrid organic-geopolymer materials"), following the invitation of Prof. J. Davidovits at the International Geopolymeric Camp 2013 (9-11 July 2013, Saint Quentin, France). At this prestigious institute, Dr. Roviello is Visiting Researcher (2013-2016), and maintains a fruitful scientific collaboration with Prof. J. Davidovits, discoverer of geopolymer science.
For his scientific work, Dr. Roviello was the winner of many prizes and awards including the first place prize at the 'Start Campania Cup 2013' (24 September 2013), as leader of the project 'Film cholesteric photostable for reflection and/or transmission of the light-Smart Glasses ', which has been among the finalists for the PNI (National Award for Technological Innovation, held in Genova October 31, 2013) and the Award of Degree "Guglielmo Laonigro" at University of Naples ‘Federico II’, awarded by the Italian Chemical Society for the best thesis of the academic year 1999-2000.
The scientific interests of Dr. Roviello lie in the broad area of Coordination Chemistry, ranging from the study of catalytic mechanisms that have received notable application, the development of innovative strategies for the synthesis of molecules and preparation of materials that find applications in the fields of asymmetric catalysis and photo-and opto-electronics. The most recent interests concern the development of new homogeneous catalysts for the polymerization of lactide and the study of new hybrid organic-inorganic materials based on geopolymers.
Dr. Roviello possesses expertise in organic synthesis, organometallic, as well as the use of several techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction and mass spectrometry. In particular, thanks to collaborations with the group that was headed by Prof. P. Corradini, has significantly deepened the field of structural chemistry.
